REMEMBER THOSE IN NURSING HOMES
by The Searcher inwhen i saw this article's title in the latest kingdom ministry - http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/278822/1/june-2014-kingdom-ministry-km-06-2014-pdf - i was delighted!!.
i thought, "at last, we are all being encouraged to visit our poor brothers & sisters in nursing homes, who feel abandoned!.
nope, that's not it - it's all about targetting non-witnesses in those establishments, and get them to sign up for "bible" studies.

"They need their wills. And yes most are mentally or physically disabled to a degree."
I'm afraid this is at least an important factor.

Is this new donation arrangement for real?
by nugget injust read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

Just one more thought.
I know some cases in my country where an elder or a group of elders have been pushing elderly people (mostley women/widovs) to change their wills. In one case the elders had formulated a new will and pushed the lady to sign it. The lady felt so bad about it that she told her daughter about it, and she helped her mother annulate that will.
So the thought of elders looking at tax returns is not that farfetched.

"There's a disconnect between the importance of the change to the everyday lives of ordinary witnesses and the banter on this board."
Yes, that's true. All changes in doctrine about the FDS or the generation does not change the everyday lives of the rank and file. The rank and file has to continue washing windovs and doing field service as usual. Nevertheless those changes are of great interestto some of us anyhow.......everything isn't about every day life. Certainley not with religions

A lot of things seems to be changing. Maybe the this year has caused some problems at Bethes and among the GB. In fact nothing has happened since 1914.........perheaps it's time for some remake of the org...?
In some way I think that the grip will harden ......... even in doing FS. Is it possible that les active wtmesses in some way will finance the pioneers. We know that the elders will have a look at every individual JW's economy. Professional pioneers and well off JWs sposoring those??

Preparing for my next visit from my Elderette - Who (or what) is the Faithful & Discreet Slave, and why do JW's worship and follow a slave?
by Faithful Witness inshe is coming tomorrow afternoon, and i do plan to have a coherent mind and much better concentration this time.
i was suffering from hypoglycemia last time she made a surprise visit, and i was foggy and literally could not comprehend a simple sentence i was reading.
our plans are to discuss the topic of the fds.

"She also has made the comment about how "each person has to come to their own conclusion about what they believe..."
Each person???? Does every JW have that freedom? Juse some year ago every single JW had to change the their belief about whio the FDS really is.

I have made my decision
by Brother Mike ini'm sure most of you have read bits and pieces of my story throughout the last year being on this site.
i've decided as a human being, and as an adult, i'm going to make the decision on whether to stay with the jw religion or leave it.
i of course have many doubts about the organization which has lead me to do research.

The Watchtower is under siege from inside and outside
by suavojr inthat is the reason the watchtower leaders are desperately trying to protect their indoctrinated supporters from being influenced by the critics.. it will get harder and harder to recruit in countries where the internet is easily accessible...the watchtower has no control over the public like it does the indoctrinated jws.
..any interested person can very easily google and learn the truth about the watchtower cult before a 'return visit' can be made.
although most jws would be afraid to go into 'apostate ' sites, more and more are waking up to the truth about the watchtower , their interest triggered by different reasons such as the child abuse cover up, the constantly changing doctrines, the downsizing etc.

I am not sure, but I should guess that JW on the web has learned their lession in one way or another. If they write something specific to answer question, it will remain on the web more or less forever. Many JW have made fools of themselves by outright lying about shunning or lying about the watchtower history.
So probably JWs could be told just to link to the JWorgy webpage, not to be specific or answer question.
But those discussion groups can be really bad for JWs In some time they might start to have serious doubts.
